In the recent weeks, we noted an act of trespassing to the premises of dormitories. This situation is worrying not only for us but also for the accommodated people. Currently, it is possible to enter dormitories in two fashions: thru the reception desk (Generála Svobody, Jířího L. Fischera, Bedřicha Václavka, Chválkovice, Evžena Rošického and Šmeralova Dormitories), and/or via the card (Neředín and 17. listopadu Dormitories). However, none of those ways is one hundred percent able to stop the trespassing. It is possible to lower the risk at some other dormitories (and not only there) e.g. by using the turnstiles together with the CCTV. This is, however, not the case of dormitories in Olomouc. Therefore, situations in which a receptionist is busy (e.g. when accommodating of informing the present people, or when leaving to the restroom – hence leaving the reception desk) may occur. When entering the dormitory without the reception desk, the stranger may enter the premises in a group of students.
In order to make the trespassing in the dormitories not possible, the receptionists at Envelopa are obliged to close and lock the dormitories from 5:30 PM (because the risk is larger after the dusk) and open the entrance on request. During the December, we are going to install the entry system at the entrances to dormitories at Envelopa which will require an ISIC to entry – which will make the entry easier to the students. Based on the contract with the security agency, the receptionists may call their employee in case of need. Currently, we also discuss (with the Legal Office of our university and the security agency) the possibilities to use the patrol service – which may enable the employers of the security agency with certain competences to perform patrols at dormitories during the evening and night hours.
We would like to ask you, students, to (in case you note trespassing at dormitories) promptly inform the relevant reception desk – by doing so, the receptionists may take the immediate measures.
We strive to provide our accommodated students with not only a relevant service, but also the feeling of safety; therefore, we would appreciate if you cooperate with us and, together, we would stop the trespassing at our dormitories.
With thanks
